Annual Report Design in Barcelona, Spain

Editorial design needs to support changing content densities without breaking the system. For a annual report design project connected to Barcelona, Spain, the location is context; the actual design decisions come from the audience, content, brand and channel.

How to frame the project

Good document design makes reading feel easier even when the reader cannot explain why.

If the scope crosses disciplines, graphic design, web design, e-commerce design and video editing can be considered as connected parts of one communication system.

What should be defined before design?

A useful brief can be short. The goal, audience, format, available content and deadline usually provide enough structure to begin.

How the project can move forward

Delivery formats depend on where the work will live: print, web, social, presentation or video.

Building something reusable

Reusable typography, spacing and component rules make future production faster.

Digital use changes the rules

File size and image optimization are part of digital design quality.

Remote collaboration is normal

Screen sharing can resolve design direction quickly without long meetings.

When motion becomes part of the brand, motion graphics and editing can extend the same typography and graphic language into video.
