Book & Cover Design in Ragged Island, The Bahamas

Editorial design needs to support changing content densities without breaking the system. A project for Ragged Island, The Bahamas does not need artificial local claims. A clearer approach is to focus on the real communication problem and how the work will be used.

Design with a clear purpose

A catalog becomes useful when products are easy to scan and compare.

If the scope crosses disciplines, graphic design, web design, e-commerce design and video editing can be considered as connected parts of one communication system.

What should be defined before design?

Collecting final copy, dimensions and image assets early reduces avoidable revision later.

More than a page count

A short scope discussion before pricing usually removes unnecessary deliverables.

From first direction to final files

Clear approval points keep the project from staying open-ended.

Remote collaboration is normal

Most design, web and video projects can be handled remotely through clear files, calls and review rounds.

Keeping the brand connected

Documenting recurring decisions reduces visual drift when more people work on the brand.

A website often becomes the place where identity, content and conversion meet, so web design works best when it is considered alongside the wider brand system.
