Box Design in South Africa

Packaging balances brand expression, product information and production constraints. For a box design project connected to South Africa, the location is context; the actual design decisions come from the audience, content, brand and channel.

A focused way to begin

The same pack needs to work on shelf, in photography and on e-commerce pages.

If the scope crosses disciplines, graphic design, web design, e-commerce design and video editing can be considered as connected parts of one communication system.

Start with the problem, not the style

References are most helpful when they explain what feels right about an example instead of asking for a copy.

How the project can move forward

Clear approval points keep the project from staying open-ended.

Working with a freelance designer

A good working relationship combines design quality with predictable review and delivery.

What changes on screen

Different aspect ratios often need a recomposed layout rather than a cropped version.

Remote collaboration is normal

Most design, web and video projects can be handled remotely through clear files, calls and review rounds.

If the brand is changing at the same time, corporate identity design and digital outputs are easier to align when they share one direction.
