Brand Guidelines in Nimruz, Afghanistan

Rebranding is often about editing and clarifying rather than replacing everything. A project for Nimruz, Afghanistan does not need artificial local claims. A clearer approach is to focus on the real communication problem and how the work will be used.

How to frame the project

A useful identity system needs to work at small scale, in one color and across digital and print.

If the scope crosses disciplines, graphic design, web design, e-commerce design and video editing can be considered as connected parts of one communication system.

Design beyond one deliverable

Reusable typography, spacing and component rules make future production faster.

What should be defined before design?

Collecting final copy, dimensions and image assets early reduces avoidable revision later.

Digital use changes the rules

File size and image optimization are part of digital design quality.

How the project can move forward

Delivery formats depend on where the work will live: print, web, social, presentation or video.

Working with a freelance designer

Direct access to the person doing the work can reduce interpretation layers in a freelance setup.

A website often becomes the place where identity, content and conversion meet, so web design works best when it is considered alongside the wider brand system.
