Catalog Design in Samaná, Dominican Republic

Long documents depend on grid, typography and rhythm more than decoration. For a catalog design project connected to Samaná, Dominican Republic, the location is context; the actual design decisions come from the audience, content, brand and channel.

A practical approach

A catalog becomes useful when products are easy to scan and compare.

If the scope crosses disciplines, graphic design, web design, e-commerce design and video editing can be considered as connected parts of one communication system.

A clearer starting point

A useful brief can be short. The goal, audience, format, available content and deadline usually provide enough structure to begin.

What really shapes the scope?

Extending an existing system and creating a new direction from zero are different types of work.

From first direction to final files

Delivery formats depend on where the work will live: print, web, social, presentation or video.

Remote collaboration is normal

Most design, web and video projects can be handled remotely through clear files, calls and review rounds.

Keeping the brand connected

Documenting recurring decisions reduces visual drift when more people work on the brand.

If the brand is changing at the same time, corporate identity design and digital outputs are easier to align when they share one direction.

Before starting
