Catalog Design in Apac, Uganda

Editorial design needs to support changing content densities without breaking the system. The same design principles apply in Apac, Uganda: reduce uncertainty in the brief, establish priorities and build only what the project actually needs.

How to frame the project

Good document design makes reading feel easier even when the reader cannot explain why.

If the scope crosses disciplines, graphic design, web design, e-commerce design and video editing can be considered as connected parts of one communication system.

What should be defined before design?

Collecting final copy, dimensions and image assets early reduces avoidable revision later.

Budget follows the real workload

Extending an existing system and creating a new direction from zero are different types of work.

Keeping the workflow practical

Delivery formats depend on where the work will live: print, web, social, presentation or video.

Remote collaboration is normal

Screen sharing can resolve design direction quickly without long meetings.

A system that survives the next project

Consistency is a shared character, not identical layouts.

When motion becomes part of the brand, motion graphics and editing can extend the same typography and graphic language into video.
