Editorial Design in OVANDO 4190, Salta, Argentina

Long documents depend on grid, typography and rhythm more than decoration. For a editorial design project connected to OVANDO 4190, Salta, Argentina, the location is context; the actual design decisions come from the audience, content, brand and channel.

A focused way to begin

A catalog becomes useful when products are easy to scan and compare.

If the scope crosses disciplines, graphic design, web design, e-commerce design and video editing can be considered as connected parts of one communication system.

Start with the problem, not the style

References are most helpful when they explain what feels right about an example instead of asking for a copy.

What changes on screen

Different aspect ratios often need a recomposed layout rather than a cropped version.

How the project can move forward

Clear approval points keep the project from staying open-ended.

Keeping the brand connected

Documenting recurring decisions reduces visual drift when more people work on the brand.

Working with a freelance designer

Direct access to the person doing the work can reduce interpretation layers in a freelance setup.

If the brand is changing at the same time, corporate identity design and digital outputs are easier to align when they share one direction.
