Editorial Design in Ulytau, Kazakhstan

A catalog becomes useful when products are easy to scan and compare. For a editorial design project connected to Ulytau, Kazakhstan, the location is context; the actual design decisions come from the audience, content, brand and channel.

A practical approach

A catalog becomes useful when products are easy to scan and compare.

If the scope crosses disciplines, graphic design, web design, e-commerce design and video editing can be considered as connected parts of one communication system.

Start with the problem, not the style

References are most helpful when they explain what feels right about an example instead of asking for a copy.

What changes on screen

Different aspect ratios often need a recomposed layout rather than a cropped version.

From first direction to final files

Delivery formats depend on where the work will live: print, web, social, presentation or video.

Keeping the brand connected

Documenting recurring decisions reduces visual drift when more people work on the brand.

Choosing a working model

A portfolio shows visual capability, but communication and process determine how the project feels day to day.

If the brand is changing at the same time, corporate identity design and digital outputs are easier to align when they share one direction.
