Visual Identity Design in Malvern, Victoria, Australia

A useful identity system needs to work at small scale, in one color and across digital and print. The same design principles apply in Malvern, Victoria, Australia: reduce uncertainty in the brief, establish priorities and build only what the project actually needs.

A practical approach

A useful identity system needs to work at small scale, in one color and across digital and print.

If the scope crosses disciplines, graphic design, web design, e-commerce design and video editing can be considered as connected parts of one communication system.

Start with the problem, not the style

Separating must-have requirements from optional ideas keeps the project focused.

What changes on screen

Different aspect ratios often need a recomposed layout rather than a cropped version.

A calmer revision process

Delivery formats depend on where the work will live: print, web, social, presentation or video.

Keeping the brand connected

Documenting recurring decisions reduces visual drift when more people work on the brand.

Working with a freelance designer

Direct access to the person doing the work can reduce interpretation layers in a freelance setup.

When motion becomes part of the brand, motion graphics and editing can extend the same typography and graphic language into video.
